INSTRUCTIONAL STAFF:
Lead Teacher (Secondary)
Objective: To implement Kawaikini's mission and education program in a safe, peaceful, stimulating and aesthetically pleasing classroom environment.
Responsibilities: Leads the educational program for a certain multi-age grouping (7-8, 9-12); collaborates with other educational staff to fulfill the vision, mission and goals of the Charter.
License/Degree: Secondary certified or in process of achieving certification.
Area: Must be Highly Qualified in one or more of the following fields: English, Math, Science, Social Studies.
Language: Fluent Hawaiian preferred
To begin: approximately July 14, 2010

Kumu Alaka'i (Secondary)
Objective: To implement Kawaikini's mission and education program in a safe, peaceful, stimulating and aesthetically pleasing classroom environment.
Responsibilities: Leads the Hawaiian language and Hawaiian culture program for Kawaikini's secondary grades (7-8, 9-12); conducts all classes in the Hawaiian language; collaborates with other Lead Teachers and educational staff to fulfill the vision, mission and goals of the Charter.
License/Degree: Secondary certified or in process of achieving certification.
Language: Fluent Hawaiian required

Lead Kumu (Elementary)
Objective: To implement Kawaikini's mission and education program in a safe, peaceful, stimulating and aesthetically pleasing classroom environment.
Responsibilities: Leads the educational program for a certain multi-age grouping at the elementary level; conducts all classes in the Hawaiian language; collaborates with other educational staff to fulfill the vision, mission and goals of the Charter.
License/Degree: Elementary certified or in process of achieving certification
Language: Fluent Hawaiian required

Kumu Kokua
Objective: To assist the Lead kumu in a certain multi-age grouping.
Responsibilities: collaborates with other educational staff to fulfill the vision, mission and goals of the Charter.
License/Degree: Bachelors degree in specific content area OR traditional knowledge and some college experience
Language: K-6 (Hawaiian language proficiency); 7-12 (Hawaiian language proficiency preferred).
